So, for now I'll get back to daily routine of Gate Guarding...JEN is helping out for a few minutes at another gate a few miles down the road. <span style="color: #0b5394;">Another day of Ramblin' on....</span></h2>
<h3>
After a couple of days with minimal traffic (at the gate) it is back to work, the frac will begin soon. We haven't experienced this operation as of yet, but I hear tell it is constant trucks in and out ... guess we will see how our experience pans out very soon.</h3>
<h4>
Christmas Eve, we had a very few vehicles to log in. Christmas Day, even less eventful, not one vehicle to log until nearly 9 p.m. when the 'boss' got back on site. </h4>
<h4>
Everyone pretty much had the day off, which is the way it should be. I prayed for their safety, as many had really long drives and just as long to come back once the Holiday was over. Seems today they all made it back in one piece, 'answered prayers' are a wonderful thing. </h4>
Christmas in South Texas is surely different from back home (NC) ... however; the cold temps certainly made it feel more like it should for this time of year. Then the WIND.. oh my, 20-25 m.p.h. and gusting up to 50 mph...sand blowing all around. Then the chairs and table outside decided to play in the wind. We managed to get them secure and came back in to the warmth of the camper.<br />
<br />
Finished off the gifted food of Smoked Turkey and pumpkin pie. Really good and appreciated. <br />
<br />
Since it was so quiet on the 25th, we were able to connect by phone with so many family members. Spoke to pretty much ALL my siblings, my parents and my son. It was really good to have uninterrupted conversations for a change.<br />
<br />
Then late Christmas Day... around 8:30 p.m. I got a call from my oldest sis. Mom had stated earlier that she didn't feel well... a comment she apparently made to more than one several times during the day and festivities. After my sisters drilled her more, they decided it was time to pay a visit to the ER...so that is where they were when I got the call. They decided to admit her overnight for observation as well as to schedule some tests. A colonostopy is in order it seems... I pray for good results. It is in God's hands. Mom is 85 as is Dad. She has some heart issues, so I also pray that whatever they decide, it will not require any surgery. I know she is in good hands, and the GREAT PHYSICIAN, well... I pray HIS will be done... In ALL our lives, daily.<br />

<span style="color: #3d85c6;">Can YOU Believe I'm posting... and MERRY CHRISTMAS</span></h2>
<h3>
I so feel that I should apologize for not posting for such a 'very long time'. But I'm not gonna. </h3>
Explain I will: Busy, tired, overwhelmed, confused about what to write about. Yea, that and more, having begun our Gate Guarding life, well it truly took more of our awake time than I had imagined. Not in a negative way at all. However; with the adjustment to our sleep schedules, meal preparation and consumption as well, Not much we do in our awake time doesn't get interrupted by a need to log in some traffic. <br />
<br />
The traffic! Wow, amazing... every size and type of vehicle you may imagine... except for 'cars' of course. Tho, there are a few now and again, not many at all. Mostly big rigs, water/vac trucks, flat beds, cranes, every type of construction equipment you can think of from rollers to huge front end loaders and backhoes. <br />
<br />
The humans! Amazing! Mostly of the male persuasion, but occasionally a female is tossed in the mix, for the most part the females are 'sales reps' from one service company or another. Then there are the 'housekeepers' hired to keep the crew's quarters in more livable shape. The males of course, are the bosses, the job crew, inspectors, tech people...etc. etc. THEY ARE ALL absolutely the most courteous folks I have ever met.<br />
<br />
The Critters! Yes, they are out and about... and INSIDE the gate with US... LOL. No problem, we love (for the most part) observing them. But, of course we haven't SEEN any we actually should be leery of, thus far. We have seen plenty of Black Angus cattle, a few javalina (distant) , tarantula, roadrunners, rabbits, and the latest... a group of 6 absolutely beautiful horses. <br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">A recent sunrise...out our front door!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Internet! The connection I can be a challenge, using our AT&T hotspot from out Galaxy III S phone...you still have to find the right 'spot' to get a sustainable connection. I'm not very patient, so when the connection comes and goes... it doesn't take long before I just give up and go to playing solitaire or SNOOD... or other offline game I have. We have considered getting one of XBox Kinect systems, just so we have more games to choose from, as well as a creative way to exercise. Since I don't feel quite comfortable taking a walk and possibly coming across a 3-4' rattler.. think I'll pass on that one. :) Have always considered myself to be a pretty down-home country girl, but I'm NOT that country LOL<br />
<br />
Before I close today's post.. please allow me to Wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas. A joyous holiday, and a prosperous New Year! <br />
We will not be home or with family this year. But are so thankful we were able to send a little something to my parents and all our siblings. Sorry, maybe next year we can include all the nieces and nephews into the giving list... There are gonna be TWO more God willing... So a special Merry Christmas to the new (in the oven) Great-niece "Olivia Clarice Martin" coming soon to the loving arms of Candice and Justin my niece and her husband. <br />

Just a quick update to say... we are truly rving now. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We said our goodbyes to almost everyone. Explaining we will be back .. afterall NC/Robeson County is our HOME.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We pulled out yesterday (9/28) at 10:00 a.m. headed S SW. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Taking our time and getting into the swing of things... LOL... or in the groove.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
WOW, South Carolina roads are rough to say the least. We have traveled them many times, but never with a TT in tow. Definitely something to get used to, and this we shall do.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have a new phone, and it takes great.. I mean GREAT pics, but I'm not good at doing it while riding down the road. I also still have to figure out the fastest or most direct route to get them HERE.<br />

This was a really nice RV park "Heritage MH and RV Park" in Augusta, Ga. A really nicely kept, very neat and clean. I commend the folks here for doing such a great job. The owner was 'old school' ... CASH only, $25.00 FHU. As in the pics.. all the sites were level, marked with cones, had concrete pads with picnic table. This one wasn't shaded, but didn't matter. We were only stopping to sleep the night and had no intentions of lounging outside :)<br />
<br />
<br />
Today, Saturday 29th, we put a couple hundred more miles on the Silverado and got to Lagrange, Ga.<br />
No pic to post... we were really tired and once set up... went straight to bed for a 'NAP" lol<br />
My nap went from 5 p.m. til nearly 9 p.m. So here I am playing on blogger while Joe is working up something for us to eat. <br />
<br />
More later (tomorrow night) and I'll do my best to have a few decent pics.<br />
<br />
<br />
Headed further South, down thru Montgomery, Ala. since we have some family there we may stop in for a bit. But doubt we will stay the night there... want to put a few more miles behind us.<br />

Yes, 9-11-2012, eleven years have passed....and we shall NEVER FORGET!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Won't forget where we were, what we were doing, nor the initial disbelief...thinking 'this can't be happening'. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am no 'author' and certainly can't ...won't even try to come up with any astounding blog post. I simply want to express that Yes, I too will never forget!</div>

What a difference ONE YEAR can make in a life.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For US... this past year 10/1/2012 - 10/1/2012...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Has been awesome, even though we haven't left town YET!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It began as a plan to eliminate the horrible expense of house renting and way over budget/priced electric bills.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I mean come on a 1200 sq.ft. house - $450. + utility bills ? </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So the wheels in my head began spinning... that explains the funny sounds up there :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And I say to myself... Self, this is so uncalled for it is just stupid.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Not calling anyone stupid , mind you... just the situation.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We were paying the bills, keeping up... just never having anything 'left over'.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Isn't that what is supposed to happen, have something left over for that perverbial 'rainy day'?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Back in 1999, when I first met the love of my life, my inspiration, my wonderful husband Joe... I made a comment ... this comment </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u><strong><span style="color: #0b5394; font-size: large;">I can be happy in a cardboard box, so long as I have YOU!</span></strong></u><br />
<span style="color: black; font-size: large;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And I meant it!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Believe me, I began to think it might happen a couple times.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In addition..</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Over the then 11 years we had been together we had moved MANY MANY times.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For various reasons...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Better Job</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Better House</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Sold a House</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Bought a House</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Sold again</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Moved to OBX - THE BEACH</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Moved to Florida - Friends and Disney were there!<br />
~~~~~</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Eventually after looking at how many times we moved.... even changed states.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It became clear we ARE NOMADS.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Our house should be on WHEELS.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
No need for boxes... pack and unpack!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
No more need to hire movers or</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Rent a truck and 2 men.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Sounded great, now convince Joe? Hummm...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It was easy... No sooner than the words</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
"Let's buy a camper and LIVE in it, travel and go where and when we want"</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
came out of my mouth... He was ALL FOR IT as well.<br />
<br />
Now.. Next thing, find a camper we can afford?<br />
Tough to do with no money.. I mean zilch!<br />
As things go... and I won't use the word L__K, cause I don't believe in it.<br />
There is no such thing as L__K, all thing happen for a reason, a purpose, a time and a season... no such thing as coincidence either.<br />
<br />
God has his plan for us all. We must ask, listen and be ready to act.<br />
Obstacles appear, but God moves them when we are going in the direction He wants us to take.<br />
Just my belief, you don't have to accept it. But nothing in or on this world can change my mind on this subject.<br />
<br />
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<br />
<br />
It was actually two months in a row, the summer of 2011, that jumped up and over the $450.00 per month in utility costs.<br />
With me having a pension that is 'fixed' as many do you can understand that major budget changes can and often do create total disaster with cash flow.<br />
So began/begins our journey, tho late in life, better late than never...<br />
Onward to Gate Guarding in Texas.<br />
Yep, the "oil patch" of Texas!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So what has this PAST year brought for you? </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
</div>
Hello All, yes I am still here...lurking, reading YOUR blogs and </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
occasionally making a comment or three.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Saw something today that made me want to blog again.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'll get to that at the end of this post. I promise.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Not that I haven't wanted to...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Just haven't felt I had anything 'blog worthy' to say lately.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So here goes, and if blogger cooperates I will publish this tid-bit.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-size: x-large;">I can think of many reasons to live in a 'house on wheels'</span></div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
Just a simpler way of life.</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
Forces you to get rid of 'stuff'</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
Much lower cost of living , IMHO</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
The entire USA, even Canada or Mexico can be</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
your back/front yard.</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
Therefore; the view can change as often as you can turn the ignition and put it in gear.</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
Change neighbors as often as ya change yer clothes (if you like).</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
Best of all, I think you find the greatest neighbors in campgrounds and other </div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
'camping' venues. </div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
Lots and lots of other really good reasons to live on wheels...</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
but don't think I am up to</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
writing/posting them all.</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
The reasons, after all, are endless to say the least.</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
Make your own list and YOU decide what it is YOU want to do.</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
</div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div align="center">
<span style="color: #073763; font-size: x-large;">Now,to be fair and honest...</span></div>
<div align="center">
<span style="color: #073763; font-size: x-large;">There are certainly a few downsides to a 'house on wheels'</span></div>
<div align="center">
<span style="color: #073763; font-size: x-large;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #073763; font-size: x-large;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
It makes it a bit more difficult to have regular visits to your FAVORITE physician.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Ya might have to plan trips back to 'a home base' on a quarterly or semi-annual time frame.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Ya sure can't keep all Aunt Eunice's, G'ma's or G'pa's things you inherited.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
(So take a picture, for memories sake)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Give it to a family member or Goodwill etc.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Sell it if it truly is worth $$$</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Forget having dozens of picture albums. Just put'em on a thumb drive... and view them anytime you like.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Usually lots less space for storing FRESH foods or even FROZEN for that matter.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So more frequent shopping trips may be in order.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
No more bulk buying from the local big bin type stores.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
When a family member (or really good friend) gets sick or worse yet pass away, you can't just go down the road, or across town to visit. However; this would allso be true if you you lived in a SB house in a different state from family. And this is the case with lots of people. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #073763; font-size: x-large;">OK, I'm getting tired...so on to the actually purpose of today's post</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #073763; font-size: x-large;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #073763;">I saw an article this morning that caused alarm ...but not for me...for others...Since my home / house / hotel room is on wheels and can go wherever I choose to take it (generally speaking of course). This would not actually concern me personally. However; others might and probably should be concerned.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #073763;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #073763;">Ya know it is one thing to go into a hotel room and find they have ...eeek! BED BUGS... or Roaches, ants etc. You get my drift, I'm sure.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #073763;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #073763;">But what if? You checked into somewhere...and got something not only infectious but </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #073763; font-size: x-large;"><em><u></u></em></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It , errra. the a/c is doing better. For clarification let me say it has cooled wonderfully... it is the water leaking onto the bed that has been the problem.<br />
<br />
Well, the other night after I had posted about the situation, our friend (formerly workkamper) from within the campground came over to take a look. Note he doesn't live/work here any longer, but that's another story.<br />
<br />
Anyway, a trip onto the roof, into the bedroom, back to the roof, back to the bedroom ... well ya get the picture, right.<br />
He ran a compressor hose in through the window, blew out the coils, vaccumed etc. etc. During all of this, he removed the a/c shroud...cleaned out the drain lines, checked this and that... heck don't ask me... I'm not going up there...I can't ... I'm too old for that climb. <br />
<br />
It seemed to work just fine, we felt like the last remaining water that had worked into the a/c interior was just gonna take a few more minutes to blow itself out.... well not exactly. I'm now pretty sure we are gonna have to replace the 14 x 14 gasket that seals the a/c and roof....now if that doesn't do it .... I'm at a total loss.<br />
<br />
So on the search for that gasket, order it... get it here and get our wonderful 'jack-of-all-trades' ... to put it in. X'ing fingers, praying and praying some more that it will solve the problem once and for all.<br />
<br />
In the meantime....it isn't pretty, but this is how I diverted the water AWAY from the BED... and into the TUB around the corner ... LOL<br />
<strong><em></em></strong><br />
<strong><em></em></strong><br />
<strong><em><blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-size: large;">"Don't confuse your path with your destination. Just because it's stormy now doesn't mean that you aren't headed for sunshine." Unknown</span></blockquote>
</em></strong><br />
<br />
I am so thrilled for each of you living your RV dreams. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Whether you bought NEW or got a great Used deal...Hoooorah! for you!<br />
Thrilled when a Sun shinny Path is being experienced by anyone.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<strong><span style="font-size: large;">Our Path is currently, a bit Stormy</span></strong></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Back last May, we were able to purchase a used '85 Southwind,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Found it only a few miles from where we were, so that part was great.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Took an afternoon, went and looked it over.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Even took a 'mechanical friend' with us to give us an unbiased opinion.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The price was right (for the make/model) so we bought it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-Kxy3hfvbdWlhHuVhQJonLl4gKRdq6zeqwuvr9nTJzXd6d9pceQhvtg7dhmoUb64HwXf-3rmfkyyLnhsxX3ZbvJ-zNTtZ7S013lW14Pp74xaq0wLctUBRzTJpLAKG_jUHKU5raO28eKtI/s1600/Our+Home+2012.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-Kxy3hfvbdWlhHuVhQJonLl4gKRdq6zeqwuvr9nTJzXd6d9pceQhvtg7dhmoUb64HwXf-3rmfkyyLnhsxX3ZbvJ-zNTtZ7S013lW14Pp74xaq0wLctUBRzTJpLAKG_jUHKU5raO28eKtI/s320/Our+Home+2012.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now thing is we ARE living in it from the day we brought it to the campground.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Fridge works, however; would like it to work on elec. and it won't ..capable, but for unknown reason it refuses to switch to elec. when the propane is turned off..or runs out.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Two a/c units... great, but can only run one at the time (30 amp thing) ..unless we use the gen... but of course gen use is not allowed in campground.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is our 'storm' ...will get to that lil later.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Stove, micro, water heater (gas only) all work just fine.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Not that we need the stove... we prefer to use the NuWave oven. and now have the </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
NuWave cook top... love it , works awesome and without heating up the RV.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Bed sleeps ok, and it is 'walk around' which I love much better than being </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
crunched up against a wall. Especially when it comes to changing the sheets.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We would have liked to remove the booth and put in chairs instead, but underneath the seats ... is location of the gas heat units (2) ... one under each seat. So that sort of kicked that idea in the head.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Real good is roof in great shape, and was only one window which leaked when it came really hard rain.... got that re-sealed , so good to go there.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The awning is also in great shape, obviously not original to the RV. Plus we did get it secured on each end with straps and anchors...and sufficient enough tilt so that rain doesn't pool.<br />
<br />
Now I post all of this to get to discussing the BAD....<br />
and<br />
it <br />
is <br />
real<br />
bad<br />
in<br />
my <br />
opinion.<br />
<br />
<strong><u><span style="font-size: large;">WHY oh WHY do / did they put a roof mount A/C ... OVER THE BED???</span></u></strong><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">We did not realize that the a/c unit over the bed would cause such a situation? problem? Call it what ya want. It is quite a problem, currently for us anyway.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">#1 It needs cleaning and filter changing. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">#2 Neither of us feel comfortable climbing onto the roof...</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I am just not steady enough on my feet.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">And well...Joe definitely has problem when it comes to height, ladders etc.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">We both may well be too heavy for the roof, not sure , but don't want to find out the hard way either.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">This has resulted in the condensation LEAKING thru the unit...and of course right ONTO the BED. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I have used 'doggie pads' to catch it, towels, and even large bowl. But ya can't SLEEP on the BED with all this going on.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So, opened up the sofa, and we both slept there last night, and was comfortable enough... definitely DRY.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So now.. to figure out WHO to call, HOW to pay for it, </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">and get the dang thing serviced.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Any local followers reading this...suggestions appreciated. Thanks</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Now just have to share this photo. In all of Ebony's 5 yr life,</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">She has always loved sleeping this way, but I have never</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> (til last night) </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">been able to catch here in a photo.</span><br />
I feel I must or should apologize...for having abandoned my blog for a full WEEK!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This past week has been sort of a blah time for us,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
with the heat ... but mostly due to my back being 'less than up to par'. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We both had medical appointments and that usually</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
takes quite a bit of time out of the day. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
To say the least, right.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I haven't been out and about the campground much at all</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
this past week, mostly due to my back acting up from time to time during this week.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It isn't much better today,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
but I am refusing to let it do me in.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have been reading your blogs, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and commenting when I felt I had something decent to say, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
without spreading my mood about to your blog. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That said, I am trying to improve my mood. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It is all about attitude, and mine needs work right now. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I pray to my Lord, Jesus...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
please give me strength.. to endure and go beyond</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
any obstacle placed between us and our dreams.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'll leave this morning with a pic of my sweet sweet Ebony...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
the rare shot that we get.. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
her color often inhibits a good shot<strike> decent even</strike>...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
this one may not show up on the blog any better than others,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
but I'm gonna post anyway.</div>
Near full capacity tonight, and with so many units using 50amp and running a/cs full blast... guess that is expected.<br />
At least it seems so here. Not unusual actually, it happens all too often for one reason or another.<br />
<br />
Just a few days ago the owner said he replaced multiple breakers in one of the BIG junction boxes. I watched out my window, as they worked...cause obviously they had to turn the power off while working on it. <br />
<br />
Earlier this evening, around 4 p.m. power went out, it was breaker(s) in another junction box... one just across from our site. <br />
<br />
Explanation was that heat built up inside the junction box and caused all breakers or main to trip so as not to burn everything out completely. I understand electrical to some extent , so it sort of makes sense. And we are still experiencing extreme heat and high heat indexes.. so there ya go.<br />
<br />
What ever the case/problem, will sure be glad to see lower temps real soon.<br />
Not just those most recently written but have been browsing into quite a few archived posts. <br />
<br />
I am quite interested in the type of work full-timers keep themselves busy doing, just for the sake of busy? or for the sake of keeping a few $$$ in the bank account.<br />
<br />
For Marsha and Joe it will be necessary to pad the bank account as we travel, once we get going, that is. Thus, the reason for our constant researching the possibilities. Work'kamping' as it is called presents itself with a seemingly endless list of possibilities. However; I am not convinced as to the ease of getting into IT.<br />
<br />
For example, I recently saw an advertisement for help in a close by campground, with the phone number and contact information (name)...however; when attempting to call, all I was able to get was a full voicemail. This was definitely no help. The ad is still posted, leading one to assume that it has yet to be filled with a capable person or couple. <br />
<br />
Many others are too far away for us to attempt to contact currently. Since we really are not sure how much longer we will have to 'park' our wheels in our current location, it is just not feasible to search further than 'our current backyard'. The owners here at our current location seem to have all the help they need or at least are willing to put to work.<br />
<br />
There is of course a few things we simply must take care of before we can 'leave'...<br />
<ul>
<li>The propane tank needs replacing. $250 ?</li>
<li>Passenger side mirror - requires remounting</li>
<li>Three way fridge - only wants to work on propane..so how do I make it switch over to electric (preference when parked)</li>
<li>New locks for the outside storage bays (some missing - some no keys)</li>
<li>A/C needs serviced... working great,but sure needs cleaning</li>
<li>AND...we are definitely gonna need a way to TOW the Caravan</li>
</ul>
So for now, I'm gonna go back to enjoying my .....coffee... refining the 'to-do lists' and of course... more BLOG reading.<br />
Even though today's forecast was for 96* with 3-digit heat indexes..</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It actually wasn't too bad.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Things around the campground were quiet as usual, I stayed in the</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
air conditioning mostly, while Joe was off toiling at work.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After he got home , we had our usual chit-chat discussing our day.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Was good that Joe's day was pretty uneventful.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Sometimes they can be pretty wild, but those posts just aren't allowed.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
:)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We decided to have dinner just a bit earlier than we often do.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So Joe went out to light the grill about 5 p.m. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I put the pasta in the pasta bowl... little contraption that microwaves it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
By the way, I simply love this little thing. Perfect pasta every time.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Tonight it was Mac n Cheese.</div>
Today being Sunday, and also with Wednesday being Dad's 85th birthday, many family members gathered with him and Mom at Pier 41 ..which is their favorite local Seafood resturant. I didn't get a head count but lets see... <br />
We had a thunderstorm earlier, and wouldn't you know it... the awning is/was out. Felt the RV rock a bit, I go.. WHAT was that.. and JN tells me he saw the awning rise UP up UP and then back down, it caused the RV to rock fairly good ... or bad maybe is better word... Well sorry it was absolutely pouring rain so we opted to PRAY instead of go out in the thunder lightening and wind... Pray worked :) yea!!<br />
There was maybe another 15-20 minutes of rain, and it was all over, and awning + RV are both no worse for the wear. Thank You Lord! Amen!<br />
Prob not<span style="font-size: large;">This morning has been fairly busy as busy goes for me. I try not to do too much in any one given day. LOL</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Up at 6 a.m. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Braided JN's hair for him.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Son came by and used printer for his produce shipment labels.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Then calls had to be made...</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> necessary to schedule us both with Dr. appts. just one of those little life necessities... assuming ya wanna keep on living this life. And WE do, most definitely.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">OK, done...two appointments , same Dr. only 3 days apart, that is so great. Only way could have been better, would be if we could have both been seen on the same day. Some times ya jus' haf'ta take wha'ca can git. The good news to this is that not long wait, we both will be seen within same week...7/31 and 8/3 . This pleases me , a lot.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Lunch, yum.. was really good cause I forgot to do b'fast. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Now for the rest of the day, will spend a bit of time on FB most likely. Could take a nap, not sure, have to wait and see if the mood strikes me.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Once JN gets in from work, we will prepare dinner...tonight the menu is his Garlic Pasta... note I said HIS :) Means momma is OFF kitchen duty...at least til 'doing dishes time comes around'. Which I really do not mind, I love doing dishes. Neat thing about an RV is that when I am in the kitchen doing anything... JN is only a few steps away, definitely within ear shot, so no "Huh? what ya say ... wait I'll be right there"... LOL I used to hate that in a SB house.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Of course, I informed JN long ago about this, so he has refrained from calling me away from dishes etc., ... well unless he is just purposely messing with me. :)</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">After dinner plans currently, include grocery shopping for next five or six days of our meal plan. Maybe I'll have a big side-by-side fridge in my next RV, would be nice. Don't need much, but the fridge only holds so much, so as you all know ... you really have to plan things out. This is turning out to be a GOOD thing, as we tend to do a lot less impulse shopping and most everything purchased has a specific plan for it ... including time and method of use.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Will be back to the RV, so we can either catch something decent on the tube ... or so we can do some web browsing in preparation for our next move.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Later gaters</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">After while... well you know .... byeeeee for now</span><br />
