HOT HOT HOT...  Am I ready?  For the "heat wave", I sorta doubt it, but gonna grin an bear...or is the bare?  Current plan is to stay inside and pray the a/c holds up.  May have to crank the ole'gen and run both a/c units for at least the afternoon hours. 

You understand the campground has 'rules' about gen running.  But I'll quote the owner as saying "he would run generator and stay cool" ...  wonder if he will remember that statement, should I  decide to do just that.?   Bottom line, not gonna, unless I absolutely have to do it.

Give you some facts about what today is expected to bring, weather wise...

Woke up to 73 degree temps

Afternoon temp forcast calling for 103 degrees

With heat indexes reaching up to and over 107 degrees

All I can say is I'm ready for NEXT WEEKS 96 degrees!

That is gonna be a cold front .. in comparison to what this weekend has planned for me.

an AHA Moment..

Ever been doing something.  Trying to at least.  Found you didn't have 'everything' that you really needed? 

This sorta-kinda happened to me today.  Just a few minutes ago actually.  I was working on my crafty little Mailbox  Christmas ornament project and dreading the next few  stitches were definitely going to  require me to  THREAD the needle again!  Yikes! 

Ya know how it is, right?  The old eyes just  aren't what they used to be, and of  course ... WHERE THE HECK is that 'needle threader'?

Remember, I mentioned not having all the stuff needed for a project?  HeHeHE, well I had what I am calling an "AHA MOMENT" .... and I took a pic to demonstrate it a bit better. 

See Scotch Tape on thread end, pulls through thru like a CHAMP
and the tape comes right off.

Well, doubt it is as phenomenal as inventing the wheel, but for me it seemed like a milestone for humanity at this point.  :)  HAHA, I am so proud of myself.

Good Morning ALL!  

  Hope each and everyone of  you had a great week-end.  The first week-end of SUMMER 2012, wow time sure does fly.

  We had a good week-end, just hanging out at the campground and attempting to stay cool as we could.  One way we did this was try out a new 'cooking gadget' we found at the local Wally-World.. We first saw it on one of those TV infomercials, but dediced to see if we could find it LESS the S/H charges.   It is called a Past Bowl, and since pasta is definitely one of our favorite foods, why not cook it with less energy and by producing less heat? 
 
  Only makes sense right?  Less water, less heat... and FASTER to the table!  What could be better?  Well, the answer to that is that the Pasta was awesome!!  Cooked to perfection. No kiddin' it was so so good. 

  If  you love pasta , you might want to check it out ,  it was UNDER $6 bucks!

Been a few days..

Hello all,
It has been a few days since my last post.  I have been busy working on the blog layout and attempted to get it monitized.

Well that flubbed up??? I have no idea why?  The e-mail that I got sure made no sense to me, LOL.   I apparently have some 'unacceptable' content.  Really?   If you see it,  would you please clue me in as to what it is... so I can remove it.  For real? 

For the moment I'm gonna have some enjoyable conversation ith the hubby. I'll be back later.

Last Day of SPRING, 2012

It is the last day of SPRING for 2012, and the weather is great.  Here where we (currently) are  camped out in the Southwind, we haven't experienced but a couple of days in the 90's as of this point in time.  However; that is sure to change ... change is definite in all things, especially weather wise.  Even more so in Southeastern NC... there is a saying among the locals  here... " If ya don't like the weather, just wait 'bout 15 minutes, it is bound to change. "  LOL and believe me it is more true than not.

I am about to take advantage, as I try to do most pleasant days... and go  for a walk.  Y'know it is  'spose to trim the waist and firm the hips...LOL...this still remains to be seen so far as my experience goes.  Guess I gotta walk  MORE.. well I did a full 30 minutes yesterday, that's gotta count  for somethin'

Will see if I can get a picture worth sharing on this page, while I'm out and about.

SPRING? Really?



NO! This was 2011 Snow in NC

Can you believe this SPRING snow in 2012, amazing but alas, not unheard of.  My best wishes, go out to all those experiencing this drastic change of weather on the East Coast.  Keep warm, and stay healthy.  As for me, still staying inside due to the 'sinus' thing.  Getting better and really looking forward to warmer days.  Until then ....enjoy every day and everything it has to offer!

Spring time & Sinus uggg

Spring is in the air... and with it , you guessed it!  POLLEN!!
I have been so sick with sinus problems that it hurts to even think.  I'm going to get better, yes I am , I said it so it shall happen.   Well,  eventually.  

So for now I'm headed back to bed for more much needed rest. 

Promise to be back tomorrow (or maybe later today) , and as soon as I can bear the 'outside' ... I will definitely try out the new camera and share with you what I capture within its frame, hopefully we will find a couple of exciting things together.

Closer to the DREAM

Dreamin that is US on the road!

We filed our income taxes this past weekend, bringing us a bit Closer to the Dream, of becoming Motorhome owners. It is definitely going to take more than what we are getting back from the IRS and State taxes, however; this surely is a nice 'drop in the bucket'. So the savings continue....

Windy night...

Good morning fellow campers and rvers. Last night was fairly windy with gusts up to around 30 mph, the lil'ole TT held it's own. Frankly, other than the window cover (which was closed) trying re-make itself as a new style alarm clock, the wind posed no problems at all.

So, coffee is so so very good this morning. Good thing too, since it is raining cats and dogs making it impossible for the morning walk, at least for right now. I will be content to sit here and write a few words.

Ok, will confess.... also have the morning news tuned in on the TV, and will be quite pleased when they find something to report on besides POLITICS ... :) This is all I will say on that subject, other than when the time comes please VOTE ... We all should exercise this right @ every election.

We have been in our 26' TT for 3 full months (since 10/1/2011)... Definitely decided this is the life for us, so now are very actively searching for that "MOTORIZED" unit.
Limited funds, but we are convinced and devoted to doing IT.

Not likely to wait for hubby to be able to 'retire'... plan now is to find the right unit, make the purchase and hit the road. Life is way too short, and there is no guarantee that either of us will still be around or even healthy enough to travel, thus our decision is to just "do it". Prayers and good wishes most appreciated.

Hope to see you down the road some day soon.

Our first Thanksgiving in our 'camper' and YES we are cooking a turkey, dressing, giblet gravy (the works).  I am also doing my cranberry sauce from fresh cranberries.  So easy, if you have never done it, you don't know what you are missing in  awesomeness and taste.  And, can't forget the PIE... pictured is just ONE of the several that Joe baked today. Yumm, yumm!!!

1st WEEK

Well the first week in the campground is coming to a close.  It has definitely been interesting, but without a doubt  we are enjoying our new 'temporary' home.

Outer Banks Sunset

Today being October 1, 2011..I place this picture of a beautiful sunset, Joe and I witnessed on one of our trips to the OBX of NC.  One of our most favorite places to be or go.  Yes Joe lived there for most of his adult life, trasplanting himself inland only after meeting ME.  Oh, guess we will never know why he moved inland instead of me moving to the BEACH.  At any rate it is history now. 

Now is here, tomorrow is there and everywhere!  The posting is to remind me of our goal.  You see today we have embarked upon a new adventure... having downsized our 'stuff' we have moved into a 26' TT (travel trailer) which we parked today in the local  campground.

Why you may ask?  First to be sure we can 'handle' the small living space.  After all, it isnt' just  Joe and me... we have two Chihuahuas as well, Ebony (black female) and Cocoa (brown male). 

The 'Adventure'  is to become full-time RV'ers.   Not just vacationing in our RV, but living in it!  Yes, everyday for the rest of our lives.   Come along, watch, follow as we explore God's beautiful USA and ourselves.  We hope to met lots of new neighbors, 'temporary neighbors' if you will.

Many will be in our lives for very short spans of time... an hour, an afternoon, a weekend?   Many will remain in our hearts even once we have gone our separate ways.  ALL will remain our TEMPORARY NEIGHBORS.

Finally here... blogging!

Wow I can barely believe it. I have been contemplating doing this for sometime now, so please feel free to follow me/us as my husband and I embark on our new adventure, journey... our life as FULL-TIME CAMPERS/RVers.

Our journey actually encompassed more than a decade to truly begin. Therefore, it will take a bit of doing to back up and bring this blog up to speed... or up to the present, I should say.

I shall warn that I am in no way an experienced blogger, nor writer for that matter, so please bare with me as the journey both here in written word and in life continues to unfold.

Yes, 16 more days and we begin our FULL-TIME RV life. Unfortunately we can't travel yet, the hubby has little more time before retirement. Plus, the TT we have acquired is '97 - 27' Dutchman / 1 slide. Would like to get a motor home between 24' & 30' to use to travel the US.

We see them all over the place but not enough cash right now , therefore; the PLAN... to live in the TT and SAVE SAVE SAVE... we have crunched the numbers and are confinent we can save upwards of $500 month just by moving into the TT parked in a local campground. This location will put the hubby closer to his current JOB. Not to mention we will save on rent/cable/internet ELECTRIC !! Hey the campsite monthly fee is LESS than our electric bill in the 3 br/1 b house we are currently renting. We will get free Wi-Fi, and things like pool, mini-golf, etc etc.. all included in the site rental... all that is EXTRA or non-existent where we are now. So I AM READY, yes.

Only 16 more days to downsize the 'stuff' === clothes , whatnots , computer desks ... you get the picture.. OH MY WORD.. pictures.. this is my goal today.. to finish sorting thru the family photos and discard most. Keeping only the ones that are simply unbearable to part with, but making sure not to keep all those 'duplicates'...
Many and I mean many will just be added to the ones my family has , that is if they want them.. otherwise here comes the refuse collector's truck.

Truly previous posters I have read articles from, all over the WWW... had it right the photos are probably the most difficult thing to part with... but we must accept that the memories are with us always. OK, so maybe my memory fades in the future... then the memories won't bother me cause I won't remember what I forgot LOL...

Anyway, hope to post again after we get settled in the campsite.
